Inselflug

Squadrons of slabs from one depth plane fly through the image along curved paths. Some move in in rows and arcs, hover there and gradually peel away again, in a dive, to the side or upwards.

Building blocks that are touched explode into colour powder, and their slab soon leaves the formation.

“Inselflug” is part of the Farbexplosion series and can be experienced at the Ferromone family festival “Farbexplosion” at the Westfälische Salzwelten, Bad Sassendorf – on Saturday, 17 October 2026, 6 to 10 pm.

Placement in the post-digital model of positing

In Inselflug the slabs become a formation – aligned, counted, led in a group, a concrete order in motion. The explosion into colour powder peels away from every formation: the form becomes a cloud without contour that loses its order but keeps its space.
