Inseln

At the front lie large, strong slabs, at the back small and pale ones. Each hovers at its own angle, rocks slightly and moves with the camera. Slabs at the front shift more than those behind.

Building blocks that are touched pulse and explode into colour powder, and their slab starts to rock.

“Inseln” is part of the Farbexplosion series and can be experienced at the Ferromone family festival “Farbexplosion” at the Westfälische Salzwelten, Bad Sassendorf – on Saturday, 17 October 2026, 6 to 10 pm.

Placement in the post-digital model of positing

Rectangular slabs on separate depth planes, building blocks in clearly bounded cells: the islands are concrete positings in space. The colour powder of the building blocks that are touched detaches from slab and cell and stands free between the planes – without contour, but representational as volume.
